Information for Attorneys

We are a full-service, affordable, professional mediation company. We have a streamlined intake and management process that provides the best possible experience for your clients.

We offer a 25% discount to attorneys who use DMS as their “regular mediator”. This discount is offered to all parties in a mediation and does not affect our impartiality.

The best way for our clients (and you)  to contact us is to set up a courtesy consultation here: https://www.denvermediationservices.com/Z30

Our basic mediation service includes:

  • Speaking with each participant (and/or their attorneys) to explain mediation and make sure that they are comfortable using our services.
  • A possible second conversation with each participant to obtain all the data we need going into the mediation session
  • One or more 2-4 hour Zoom sessions to conduct the mediation itself
  • Scrivening of the final agreement and e-signature by all participants.

We are flexible with our clients and allow (within reason) unlimited calls and emails to ask questions and resolve issues.

Along the way we ask the participants to sign the Agreement to Mediate form and optionally the intake form (see below).

We generally charge each participant the same amount and expect payment before the first Zoom mediation session. We have a fixed-price rate structure for all the services provided and offer discounts for military, veterans, repeat clients, attorneys, and others by request. Payment is by any of the standard online methods.

Our process includes the following items:

Agreement to Mediate: We use an online process for mediation participants to sign this document, which indicates understanding and acceptance of the mediation rules of conduct.

Intake form: (Family / General) This is where we optionally collect intake information.

Memorandum of Understanding: Many of our mediations conclude with the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding, which can be filed with a court if necessary.  Attorneys sometimes expect to use court forms such as stipulations, and they complete those during or after the mediation, sending us a copy for our records. See also Family Forms below.

DMS uses SignNow for online signing, and we send out the completed MOU or other form for online signature so that the participants receive a fully signed copy.  We are also pleased as a courtesy to send out attorney-specified forms if those need signing.

Family Forms: We handle Family cases in Colorado only, unless specially requested. In Colorado, mediators are allowed to work with the parties to complete forms JDF-1113 (Parenting Plan) and JDF-1115 (Property and Financial Agreement). Mediators can also provide child support and maintenance calculations using online resources and the information provided by the participants – we use Math4Law. These items provide all the information usually required by the court.

Liability Insurance: We are fully insured through CEMINS
